Berry Smoothie Bowl
If you've been keeping up with me on Instagram and Facebook you know all too well that I adore my smoothie bowls in the morning.They're creamy, filling, and thick enough to eat with a spoon just like ice cream except healthier. I love to top them with crunchy homemade gRAWnola (it's raw vegan granola) , superfoods like hemp and gojis, and of course, fresh fruit.
My Berry Smoothie Bowl is very similar to an Acai Bowl, minus the acai which can be very expensive and hard to find in most countries.
A creamy, raw mixed berries,banana smoothie bowl. Similar in texture to soft serve ice cream topped with homemade crunchy granola.
1 frozen banana, sliced
1 cup of frozen mixed berries
1 tablespoon cocoa powder (or Raw Cacao)
½ teaspoon maca*
¾ cup of coconut milk* (add less to make it thicker)
Dash o cinnamon
TOPPING // homemade granola and fresh fruit
*I used desiccated coconut and water to make coconut milk because it’s lighter, and I was out of Almond Milk) Coconut milk can also be substituted with any other non-dairy milk of your choice.
*Maca is considered one of the world's top "super foods" . It is very rich in nutrients (has a higher calcium level than milk) and is very nutrient dense. And it gives a nice earthy malt flavor !
Combine all ingredients into a speed blender.
Pour into a large bowl and top with granola.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
