The Old Taipei (Part 1)

Dihua Street (迪化街) has become my favorite place in Taiwan. I've heard it is one of the oldest streets in Taipei and used to be the biggest trade center during the Qing Dynasty. The place is always, ALWAYS, busy ! What I love is that you can find practically anything, from goji berries and raw cashews to premium French lace and fabrics.

Dihua (迪化街) is very different from modern Taipei. The Japanese colonial architecture makes you feel as if you're in a completely different city.  But keep in mind that this is one of the oldest spots in Taipei; so don't expect it  to be clean and perfect like Xinyi District.

If you're ever in Taiwan try to make some time to visit Dihua, I promise you'll love mixing with the locals and learning about their culture.
